Mecklenburg Open Door, Inc. operates 19 scattered site condominium units throughout Mecklenburg County, NC.

What is a scattered site condo?
MOD's scattered site condos are one to three bedroom units scattered at different condo communities in Mecklenburg County. They are unique in that they provide housing for an adult in recovery as well as their spouse and/or dependents. Our scattered site condos offer the highest level of independence. Staff visits regularly to support and guide the residents plan for recovery and independence. Residents receive, at minimum, 4 contacts per month, with at least one contact being a home visit. Staff is also available to residents 24 hours a day, if needed in an emergency. Each condo resident is provided supervision and instruction at a level established by an individualized plan.

Who is eligible?
Adults who have a primary Mental Health diagnosis and receive Community Support Services in Mecklenburg County qualify for scatter site condo living. Because many of our facilities are owned by Housing and Urban Development (HUD), the housing qualification also means that the individual must, initially, meet Low-Income requirements.

Hours of service and locations:
Scattered site condo staff is available during traditional work hours and are located throughout Mecklenburg County. Staff are available 24 hours in an emergency situation.
