What is a supervised apartment complex?
In a supervised apartment complex there are eight to ten separate one bedroom apartment units in a traditional setting where residents live more independently. Staff visits regularly to support and guide the residents plan for recovery and independence. Staff is available to residents 24 hours a day, if needed in an emergency. Each apartment resident is provided supervision and instruction at a level established by an individualized plan.

Who is eligible?
Adults who have a primary Mental Health diagnosis and receive Community Support Services in Mecklenburg County qualify for Apartment living. Because many of our facilities are owned by Housing and Urban Development (HUD), the housing qualification also means that the individual must, initially, meet low-Income requirements.

Hours of service and locations:
Supervised Apartments are staffed during traditional work hours and are located throughout Mecklenburg County. Staff are available 24 hours in an emergency situation.
