Mecklenburg Open Door provides opportunities for people with special needs to grow and learn, to choose their own paths and to receive the assistance they need to shape their own futures.

Our services include licensed group homes, supervised apartments and private condominiums for individuals who have severe and persistent mental illness.  We also provide administrative services for Shelter Plus Care, a rental assistance program for persons with disabilities who are at risk for being homeless.

Mecklenburg Open Door is a non-profit community agency.  We rely on the generous support of private donors and corporate partners to supplement public funding for our services.
